This feature is used when monitoring a website and when status “200 OK” response alone is not enough. When enabled, it tells our monitoring system to compare the web content retrieved from the web host against a specific text of user’s choosing. If and only if the system finds the specified text in the content of the web page, then the host will be considered active. If the search fails or the host does not respond at all, then a notification of unreachable host will be sent to appropriate contacts.

This great new feature was suggested by one of our valued members, Travis May, who wrote to us yesterday. We managed to implement it quite fast and released it today! We express our greatest appreciation for the input provided by Travis May, and hope that many will find “Find Web Text” feature useful.
